Now, I am no fashion expert so I have been doing some digging around to figure out how to dress this bump in a way that is comfortable but also makes me feel confident. This pregnancy is at the opposite time of year to my last one so I have had to learn how to dress the bump all over again. Last time, I was heavily pregnant in a heatwave and this time in the cold wintery months so my wardrobes are totally different.
These are some of the staple items I have been wearing throughout this pregnancy so far, and a few others I think that you might love!!
I mean there are not many occasions where I don’t recommend leggings let’s be honest, but they are great for sitting comfortably over the bump even when not exercising. If you missed it, have a look at my pregnancy activewear blog for the brands I recommend.
BAGGY SWEATSHIRTS & JUMPERS
There is nothing I love more than a big cosy jumper or sweatshirt. They look great over leggings, jeans and dresses, they are really versatile and most importantly, comfortable.
GREEN OVERSIZED JUMPER
I have lived in this. Perfect for covering over a bump when you are not ready to tell everyone. A Lovely uplifting colour.
ADIDAS PINK SWEATSHIRT
I wear this sooo much, it has been a staple in my wardrobe and is definitely big enough to take me to 9 months. I know I’ll still be wearing it after the baby arrives too.
LILAC MATERNITY JUMPER
Such a great colour for Spring, and I love the price too!!
GREEN OVERSIZED SWEATSHIRT
Love this slouchy look.
ELASTIC BAND TRICK
My Mum actually taught me this and it is genius. While your jeans almost fit but don’t quite do up anymore, you can still wear them if you just use a hair elastic or elastic band round the button and with that nice baggy sweatshirt on top no one will know!
Of course the elastic band trick won’t work forever so when the time comes to change into pregnancy jeans you’ll see that there are way too many to choose from and it can be so difficult to find the ones that fit and suit you. There is over the bump, under the bump, skinny fit, baggy fit and do you size up or not? My brain was frazzled trying to decide but I did find a few that I really liked.
OVER THE BUMP BAGGY JEANS
Love these, a really good fit.
UNDER THE BUMP SKINNY JEGGINGS
A good staple for your wardrobe, nice and stretchy.
OVER THE BUMP SKINNY JEANS
Dress them up or dress them down, really good shape and will look good post pregnancy too.
UNDER THE BUMP BAGGY JEANS
These have been a real winner for me as it means you don’t have to necessarily buy maternity dresses as this style is great for over the bump. It has the added benefit of not having any pressure on the bump so if you are feeling nauseous it really helps.
I have got one very similar to this, but it’s now out of stock. This is almost identical, would be great for winter or summer.
I’ve just bought this, think it’s going to be great for the summer, post pregnancy too.
I personally love a pair of dungarees on a pregnant woman, I think it is such a lovely outfit choice and not only does it look great it is so comfortable too with again no pressure on the tummy.
I’ve been living in this recently.
Super soft and luxurious
When your bump is more established it can be so nice to show it off and wear tighter clothes so bodycon dresses and skirts are a lovely option and can be worn so easily when not pregnant as well so a nice wardrobe staple.
Super cute, great for the summer.
LONG SLEEVED RIBBED DRESS
Date night bump dressing!!
MIDI RIBBED SKIRT
For when you want to show off your bump to the max!!
More of a statement and I love it!
